The joint networking event with our friends over at the American-Lao Business Association was a great success, expanding networks and making new connections.

On February 10, 2025, we gathered at the British Embassy for an inspiring evening honoring businesses making a real impact in Laos through responsible and sustainable practices.

On the 1st February 2025, the BBGL hosted our annual Burns Night Supper. A unforgettable evening steeped in Scottish tradition, culture and celebrating the life and legacy of the poet Robert Burns.

The British Embassy hosted a thrilling football tournament to celebrate 70 years of diplomatic ties between the UK and Lao PDR. The tournament had over 300 participants, and 20 teams from various Lao Ministries, British businesses and international organisations.

Many thanks to Lao Derm Group and the team at La Lune Bar and Restaurant for hosting our Business | Social event for January. With over 70 people attending, it was a great evening of networking, learning about the impressive range of businesses under the Lao Derm Group.

What an evening! Thanks to everyone who joined our latest Business | Social event at Hard Rock Cafe Vientiane last week. Our biggest and liveliest networking event of the year so far was a fitting way to say thank you to departing BBGL Chair Wayne McIntosh and welcome in new Chair Lee Sheridan.

Royal Ascot 2024 was a very special event to celebrate a great British tradition – Gold Cup Day at the Royal Ascot Races. Colloquially known as Ladies Day, it is where the worlds of high-society and horse racing converge with formal, elegant fashion crowned by beautiful and inventive hats.

In partnership with a selection of business chambers, the BBG jointly hosted the biggest networking event of the year, with over 300 business and diplomatic leaders in attendance. This event was sponsored by the RMA Group.

This was the culmination of the four-day ‘British Education is GREAT’ Roadshow 2024, where over 50 UK university and college representatives gathered to give Lao students a chance to meet and discuss the opportunities available to study in the UK, and how to go about this.

Our 2023 Christmas lunch was a wonderful opportunity to catch up at the end of a busy year. Love Life put on a sumptuary spread, including a perfect Christmas ham and moreish mince pies! And lucky draw winners went home happy with some great prizes!

A big British cheers! to Café Fes for hosting a delightful evening, exchanging ideas with friends old and new, while feasting on the delights of the Maghreb – both culinary and visual – as we enjoyed Moroccan and Mediterranean canapes, surrounded by white washed walls adorned with stunning murals.

The clink of glass on glass, the gentle hiss of tonic's bittersweet effervescence and the animated hum of excited conversation heralded the launch of the Lao PDR's very own gin, of which our members agreed will likely prove a great success.

It was a great honour to welcome H.E. Heather Wheeler, the Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Laos and Cambodia back to Vientiane. A great evening bringing together some of the leading British businesses and Lao dignitaries for important discussions on improving trade.
