It was a great honour and a privilege for several of our Board Members to attend the opening ceremony of Vientiane’s latest hotel offering, the DoubleTree by Hilton Vientiane on the 1 September.
Located in downtown Vientiane within a short walking distance of Hard Rock Cafe, Khob Chai Deu Restaurant and the Nam Phou fountain, this DoubleTree has excellent on site facilities including a covered but open-to-the-street cafe area over the length of the building. Aside from a distinctive exterior cladding, there is the necessary off-road parking for guests situated on the whole of the first floor accessed by a ramp entered from alongside the main hotel entrance.
Senior board members including Wayne McIntosh, John Cockcroft and Will Thomas were privileged to be received by Doubletree Commercial Director, Achara Chuenbunchoo at the opening ceremony and to be shown around the hotel and its function rooms, of particular interest for future BBGL events. A delicious buffet lunch was provided to the guests attending the opening ceremony.
It was a pleasure to meet senior Hilton management visiting from Thailand for the occasion and to see several old Lao friends of BBGL now employed by DoubleTree by Hilton in Vientiane in senior positions.
