Business | Social @ Amari – March 2026

Thank you to everyone who joined our March Business | Social networking event at Amari Vientiane, to launch the ‘Solar Refractors Gallery’ – an exhibition paying artistic tribute to the Mekong River and Lao way of life.

The gallery features curated works from prominent local artists and artisans, including Ock Pop Tok, Willie, iCat Gallery, Her Works, Billie, Women with Disability Association, and Caruso Creations.

Through various mediums, the exhibition explores the cultural depth and historical impact of the Mekong River on the region. The launch event served as a cultural and networking platform, bringing together a diverse cross-section of stakeholders including ambassadors, government officials, corporate leaders, NGO
representatives, and SME founders, facilitating cross- sector engagement within Vientiane.

Echoing this community- focused sentiment, Ms Sakkara Mahapho, General Manager of Amari Vientiane, emphasised the property’s role in the local arts scene. “We established ‘The Solar Refractors Gallery’ to utilise Amari Vientiane as a platform for the community,” said Ms. Sakkara. “By bringing the inspiration of the Mekong River indoors, we are celebrating both the cultural foundation of Laos and the exceptional talent of our local artists.”

Lee Sheridan, Chair of the Board of the British Business Group / British Chamber of Commerce highlighted “the chamber’s pleasure in being able to support Amari, a key partner of the Chamber, in launching this insightful and inspiring gallery, and sharing this with our wider community”.

Following the inaugural networking event, the art installations will remain on display in the Amari Vientiane lobby for a 30-day extended showcase.
